Many photos to come!

Yes, I have been taking a photo a day (or so) and have many posts to make going back to April 30th. We are on the road now so stay tuned...many new posts will be up next month!

Love, love, love cherry trees!
Wish my composition had been more thoughtful though :-/

April 21

At the U-haul place we noticed that almost all the license plates on the trucks were Arizona plates. How appropriate seeing how Arizona will soon be our new home state. I like the design of the plate too...beautiful mountains and desert sunsets here we come!

Pitched tents at Dick's. Haha...sorry, couldn't help myself! Shopping around for camping equipment.

April 16

Part of a large wall at a family restaurant paneled completely out of wine boxes. I thought it was a nice idea and very well done.

April 14

Salad wraps. Fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, tomato, basil, cucumber, olives, hot peppers, baby spinach, romaine, radicchio, and garlic balsamic vinaigrette on sundried tomato wraps. Delish!

April 13

Head rush! (A little tip from personal experience—don't attempt this without a spotter.)

April 10

Smiley, beautiful Jayden. My nephew is growing so fast and next month he'll turn 1! Photo credit goes to Jared, but even though I didn't take this one it HAD to be part of documenting this year.

April 5

Spring in full swing. Bright green hosta sprouts and yellow forsythia against a blue sky.

April 2

On the way to Blackstone Boulevard, this beautiful display outside of a florist caught my eye.

March 31

At the eye doctor...and a good thing too! Jared could really be the sole subject of this blog. He is always doing something that makes me want to whip out the camera. I'm into snapping shots of him in vulnerable positions too...it's kind of an ongoing joke. Funny stuff.

March 28

Big day... Open House Day! Ten parties came through and we received our second offer.

March 26

There was so much interest when we listed the house. Here we are in the bathroom in between showings having some fun and snapping some photos for our memories. I obviously didn't take this one, but had to include it to remember this happy time.

March 22

So it's been 6 weeks since I've made a post and this is why. We have been busy with the business of selling our house! Jared and I had much to do to prepare our home for the market and this photo shows the moment the "For Sale" sign was at last staked into the ground. It was late at night on March 22. When the sun rose the next morning, the neighbors must have wondered, "When did that happen?". (Of course the sign had my entire number on it, but I didn't want to post it on the internet ;)

Photo a Day (or NOT)

Oh crap! My attention has been completely elsewhere and I have not taken a photo for two and a half weeks! If I keep this up, I'd better rename this blog "Photo a Day (or not)".

Dinner. Asian vegetable stir fry with cashews and couscous. Yum!

Green smoothie. Spinach, banana and apple. My mom would be so proud. When I was little she was into juicing. Mom had the Juiceman recipe book and official Champion juicer. I used to run when she made her concoctions. Sorry, mom. You were right!

Sitting at the kitchen table around 5:15pm I noticed this beautiful light shining in the hallway from the west facing window in the office. Jeans hanging to dry in the doorway. Shadow of the blinds on the wall. The light faded and changed and in just a couple minutes, it was gone with the sun. A light I've never noticed before...

Feb 17

Stash of acrylic paints from college (and surprisingly, they're all still good!). I had to try and match the color on the living room walls for a patch job. I mixed the taupe color at the top left, some cream-colored leftover latex paint and some black spray paint. It came out (surprisingly) great.

Feb 16

Turning to things around the house as subjects again. The goal of this blog is to take an interesting photo almost every day that documents something about that particular day. So, by my own standards, this image (and some others) sort of fail. Therein lies the challenge of this project—to capture more than just a "pretty picture". In the end, I think this photo blog will be a rewarding learning experience. I'll learn to take better pictures and hopefully, more meaningful ones.

Happy feet. Jill and Jayden in matching Converse shoes. A remake of a cute picture Jill took before Jayden got his real, "big boy" pair.

Feb 14

Molten chocolate cake I made for dessert.

Breathtakingly beautiful orchids from my husband who is more beautiful still.

I see this church steeple in the distance from the window in the office. I like it at dusk. It feels...European.

Feb 10

I bought these gluten free tortillas that were absolutely terrible—like they were made from Elmer's glue. Luckily, it wasn't a total waste because I found another use for them.

Feb 9

Toiletries set up in the kitchen...still working on the bathroom.

First visitor I've seen at the feeder since I filled it weeks ago. Luckily the camera was at the ready.

One long, single peel. I made a vegetarian chili for dinner and the recipe called for one granny smith apple, peeled, cored and chopped. I peeled that apple like nobody's business.

My brother-in-law, Eric, on guitar.

Jan 31

Colorful produce at Whole Foods. I must admit I was a bit embarrassed whipping out my camera at the busy grocery store. I had to wait several minutes to get a shot without people in it, but I think it was worth it.

Jan 30

Dinner. Veggie pockets! (I realize that 5 out of the last 6 posts have been about food, and here comes another...)

Jan 29

PMS-ing. My husband takes the good with the bad :)

Jan 28

Taken from the living room window while huge snowflakes came down. It was so pretty. This scene with our lamppost, the evergreens and snow remind me of Narnia.

Jan 27

Delish vegetarian soft tacos! Another great recipe from Tal Ronnen.

Jan 24

Unspeakables indeed.
Thank you to Robert Kenner, director of "Food Inc." for speaking out.

Jan 21

Vegan stew. Recipe courtesy of Ellen Degeneres' chef, Tal Ronnen. The "meat" is a vegetable protein appropriately called Gardein. This photo could've definitely used a sprinkling of bright green parsley.

Wally, my beloved rabbit, loves cuddling with his life-size husky puppy. While Jared was playing the drums, Wally buried his head under the puppy's rear end. So cute! (Wally does this even when my husband is not playing the drums...he's so funny!)

Jan 19

The purge continues. These skating dresses have hung in a garment bag in the basement for seven and a half years. The last time I wore the purple velvet one was in 1997 when I was sixteen. It has a beautiful open back. I loved it and the shimmering blue one too. The photos I took before letting go of the dresses preserve the happy memories I have of wearing them.

Jan 17

Today was about purging the house of needless stuff. Less things, more life. We have more trash and recycling that can fit in our bins. Can't wait 'til trash day!

Colors and textures. Love the chartreuse colored algae or moss on these rocks contrasting the blue-green of the ocean and the wispy quality of the sea grass.

Sunset at Beavertail in Jamestown.

Jan 15

A display of some favorite things. I love the color of these rustic, wooden boxes. The shell on top was found on a beach in Jamestown in 2009 and the other shell was found by my mother at Rocky Point in 2008. The intricately detailed feather fell from a bird at the Franklin Park Zoo on my birthday last year and the purple geode was purchased at a Native American powwow.
